FAQ

Q. What's the Rewarding Point?
A. Rewarding Point, or Point, is the basic unit used in ImmigrationWatch Community to quantitatively tell how active a member is.

Q. What can I use my rewarding points for?
A. If you are going to post a very challenging question or you want your post to be addressed timely, you may assign some points (maximum 20 per thread) to your thread to encourage other members to respond.

Q. What if I assigned some points to my topic but nobody has responded yet?
A. You may want to increase more points to match the toughness of your question or simply revoke what you have assigned.

Q. How can I earn the Rewarding Points?
A. Whatever you've done which is good for the community will be quantitatively recorded.
  • 100 points -- register and activate your account.
  • 1~5 points -- daily assess
  • 1~20 points -- post or reply.
  • 1~20 points -- rewarded from other member who believe you have answered his question to his satisfaction.
  • xxx points -- (others. The most likely rewarding activities we are going to add are member referral, volunteer work.)

  • Q. What if I address a point-awarded topic but the starter will never come back to dispatch the assigned points?
    A. Most members will do but if someone, for any reason, failed to dispatch the points within a certain period of time, moderators are then entitled the rights to dispatch the points after that period (usually 2 weeks). If moderators failed to do that, or it's very hard for moderators to make any decision, the points will be automatically distributed by system according to the following rules:
  • If 1 reply, 100%;
  • if 2 replies, 70% for the first and 30% for the second;
  • If 3 replies, 60% for the first, 25% for the second and 15% for the third;
  • If 4 replies, 50% for the first, 25% for the second, 15% for the third and 10% for the fourth;
  • If 5 replies, 50% for the first, 25% for the second, 12% for the third, 8% for the fourth and 5% for the fifth;
  • and so on.

  • Q. So what if I earn tons of points?
    A. If you accumulate enough points to position yourself at the very top list (top 3 or top 10) of most active members within a certain period of time (tentatively set as yearly base), we will send you a gift to appreciate your hard work.

    Q. Is it fair to compete with moderators who have the privilege to dispatch points?
    A. Moderators do have certain power including dispatching the untouched points, but moderators cannot honor themselves though. For the sake of fairness, however, moderators and admin are excluded from the most active list. Definitely, those who had been banned due to the violation of our Terms of Use are excluded too.

    Q. How do I know how many points I have earned?
    A.
